“Moving To A New Country”

Hi, I am Ashima. This is the first time I am ever writing a blog. I am writing this blog for the people who are struggling after moving to a new country. I chose this subject because I can easily relate to those people. Eventually, this blog can help people with their struggles of living in a new country.

Most of the people move to a new place for high end opportunities, all new lifestyle, growth in career. This move can even change the life of an individual wholly. Everything seems to be different when you move to a new country. However, ample of opportunities and luxurious lifestyle was my reason to move in.

Few Things about me:

I was in grade 11th when I decided to move to Canada for my further studies. Basically, it was my dream to study Abroad, My Parents used to ask me whether I am ready to face my imaginary world with the difficulties of real world, I always use to reply them with a big yes to face the difficulties as moving to Canada was my dream come true moment. 20th August 2019, I first landed at the airport. All of a sudden, I was in a whole different world where people used to walk with their headphones on, everyone was busy with their work while none were even looking at each other, that was the strangest thing to me. However, language was the biggest barrier for me.

It was so challenging for me i was surrounded by a language I was not comfortable with. Moving to a new country is not at all easy, it is something you have never experienced, you have to come out from your imaginary world along with your comforts.

Research the new country before you move:

Before stepping into a new country research is a mandatory part, having a full fledged knowledge about the Country’s culture, norms, lifestyle, language, people’s behavior, rules and regulations. Most importantly to get blend of new things.

Learning the Language:

Learning a new language is bit difficult because you have to get out of your comfort zone, Everyone will acknowledge you and you will be able to integrate with the society.

Learn a new language as fast as you can,if you are not comfortable with the language. You literally have to get out of your comfort zone, and try from day one. Start from the very beginning and try to you easy phrases that will make you feel comfortable. Sometimes you have to fake it by expressing you got everything so, “Fake it until you make it”. You don’t need to go through grammar books and gain excessive knowledge the very simple thing you can do to improve your language skills is go try to have a good conversation with the people around you, try to listen to people. Try to watch movies, go catch up with everyone. And also there are a lot of English courses online, that will really help you.

Loneliness:

Always I repeat let yourself prepared for the time when you are feeling lonely, and one should always make sure that would not affect your professional life and your studies too. These emotions can even ruin your life at times. Do you feel alone? My suggestion for you is to think for the reason why you are here. Think of all those sacrifices you made for coming here. The best way to get over this is by going out talk to new people, explore the city, try to know more about the things you are doing, try to adapt new opportunities instead of sitting idle. Do not lock yourself in the room full of negative vibes.

Adjust your routine:

It’s time to get rid from your old routine, try to make a new schedule for your daily life, that will help you to embrace the way you are living. Whether it’s your afternoon naps, breakfast, dinner, getting up at 9:00 am you have to adjust yourself into the new atmosphere. Adjusting the routine is much simpler than trying to make it work. You have the opportunity to turn the page and start a fresh beginning. At last you are the only one who has to forget the best pages of the book of your life and create more.
